Marriage was important for men and women of all social classes Most men were married by the age of twenty to girls who could have been as young as 14 or 15. Egyptians took marriage seriously but it wasn’t a religious celebration. It happened when two people decided they wanted to be together and they moved all their belonging in and started a common household. Most people believed in marriage and stayed together till death.
